Job Title

Role Overview
The Contracts Specialist will manage the full contract lifecycle, from drafting, review and negotiation through to execution and closeout. The role will guidance to internal stakeholders, support global project activities, and help ensure compliance with commercial, legal and regulatory requirements while effectively managing risk and protecting business interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate and finalise a wide range of contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, client agreements, supplier agreements and service contracts in accordance with Aqualis’ contracting principles and review procedures.
- Ensuring that contracts comply with legal, regulatory and organisational standards.
- Collaborate with project managers on claims, variations, extensions of time and other contractual change matters.
- Maintain accurate and organised contract records and documentation.
- Identify potential risks in contract terms and, with relevant stakeholders, develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Advise management on contractual rights and obligations and interpret terms and conditions.
- Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to agree commercially appropriate terms that protect Aqualis’ interests.
- Collaborate with the Group legal counsels on complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Act as a key point of contact for contract-related matters within the areas or projects assigned to the role.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including executive management, project managers and bid administrators.

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in Law, Legal Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience, ideally in a commercial or similar role.
- Demonstrable experience of drafting, negotiating and managing contracts, ideally within the energy or marine industries.
- Ability to identify, assess and communicate contractual and commercial risk, and interpret contractual terms and apply contract review procedures.
- Experience in the energy and marine industries, including oil and gas and onshore and offshore renewable energy is beneficial.
