Job Description: Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) Engineer – MATLAB & Simulink
Work Location: Stafford, UK (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 6–12 Months
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) Engineer with experience in MATLAB and Simulink to support the development, testing, and validation of control and protection applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering assigned engineering activities within agreed project timelines by coordinating effectively with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Delivery teams.
The role requires a strong understanding of power systems and power electronics, along with software development, debugging, and model-based testing skills. The engineer will contribute to improving product quality, ensuring system reliability, and maintaining effective testing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) test cases using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Analyse and validate test results against defined design requirements and technical specifications.
- Document technical issues, challenges, and findings, and contribute to lessons-learned activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean principles.
- Execute regression test cases regularly to verify system functionality and performance.
- Prepare and maintain detailed test reports, including results, observations, and identified issues.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification, with an academic background in power systems and power electronics.
- Practical knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink for model development, testing, and validation.
- Understanding of software debugging, test execution, and regression testing processes.
- Ability to analyse test results, identify issues, and prepare technical documentation.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and Lean principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
