Our success is built on our people, and we're looking for a passionate and proactive Control of Works Advisor to help maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence across a flagship client site in Teddington.

The Opportunity

As a Control of Works Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that all contractor activities and project works are carried out safely, compliantly, and in line with best practice. Working closely with the Control of Works Manager and key client stakeholders, you'll help oversee the control of work process, review planned activities, deliver training, and provide assurance that robust safe systems of work are consistently applied.

This is a highly visible role that combines operational oversight, stakeholder engagement, safety leadership, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing and coordinating the Control of Work process across the site.
  • Reviewing work scopes, risk assessments, and method statements to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Overseeing contractor activities and ensuring compliance with permit-to-work and safe systems of work procedures.
  • Delivering contractor inductions and Control of Work training.
  • Conducting monitoring activities, audits, and assurance checks to drive compliance and process effectiveness.
  • Producing performance reports and supporting KPI delivery.
  • Working closely with operational teams, Authorised Persons (APs), contractors and client representatives.
  • Supporting toolbox talks and competency development initiatives.
  • Investigating incidents, tracking corrective actions, and promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Driving continuous improvement across contractor management and control of work arrangements.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent HSSE qualification).
  • Experience operating contractor management, permit-to-work, or control of work systems within Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering, or Projects environments.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
  • Experience working within operational facilities, technical estates, or project delivery environments.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence delivering training and engaging with contractors and operational teams.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
