Control Room Analyst

Insight Global are seeking a Control Room Analyst for a leading global investment management and financial services organisation.

Position Overview

This position requires 5 days onsite in London for a 12-month contract (Inside IR35) with possibility for extensions.

Role Description

The Control Room Analyst plays a key role in monitoring market activity, assessing regulatory risk, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. This is a highly technical and analytical position, combining regulatory expertise with hands-on data analysis using SQL and Python. The successful candidate will investigate real-time alerts, validate positions, support risk management activities, and work closely with technology teams to enhance compliance tooling and reporting capabilities.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Strong experience working in a Control Room, Compliance, Risk, or Regulatory environment within financial services
  • In-depth understanding of financial market regulations and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data and make risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Plusses

  • Experience supporting compliance or surveillance platforms
  • Knowledge of position and concentration reporting processes
  • Experience collaborating with engineering or development teams to enhance internal tools
  • Background working within hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, or trading environments
  • Experience developing or maintaining automated compliance workflows and scripts

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and investigate real-time compliance and market activity alerts
  • Analyse position and transaction data using SQL and Python
  • Assess regulatory obligations related to disclosure requirements, wall crossings, and position limits
  • Escalate and document potential compliance risks where required
  • Partner with technology and engineering teams to improve monitoring processes and internal reporting tools
  • Maintain and enhance scripts used for compliance and risk monitoring
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of Control Room operations and workflows
