Control Systems Engineer (North West/ North East UK) - £60-70K basic
We’re looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team and help deliver high-impact control and automation solutions across Life Sciences, Chemical, Manufacturing, and Processing industries.
Every project is different. You’ll design and implement a wide range of systems — including process control, plant management information systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), track & trace, and OEE solutions — for leading organisations such as AstraZeneca, Piramal Healthcare, Sellafield Ltd, Magnox, INEOS and Gatwick Airport.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the design and implementation of process control solutions throughout the full project lifecycle
- Gathering requirements, producing proposals and technical specifications
- Developing software, testing, installing and commissioning systems
- Fault-finding and preparing design specifications and reports
- Providing technical support and consultancy to both internal teams and external clients
- Supporting colleagues to deliver projects on time, on budget and to the required quality standards
- Working in line with our Quality Management System
- Building and maintaining strong, professional customer relationships (including providing engineering support under SLAs)

What we’re looking for
- At least 7 years’ mainstream PLC/SCADA experience
- Experience in regulated industries (Life Sciences, Chemical Manufacturing, or Power & Energy) is highly desirable
- Strong ability and willingness to learn new software systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- A proactive, “can-do” attitude and positive approach to learning
- Full UK driving licence
