Spacecraft Control Systems Engineer | Space Systems | Guidance, Navigation & Control
Location: London
Work Arrangement: Hybrid Working (Typically 3 Days On-Site)
Salary: Up to £75,000 Gross Per Annum + Bonus

If so, this is an opportunity to work on advanced space programmes where you'll contribute to next-generation spacecraft control capabilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across design, integration, testing, and mission operations.
About the Role
As a Spacecraft Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and verification of spacecraft control systems for a range of space missions.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute across the full subsystem lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition through to integration, verification, validation, and support during early mission operations. You will help ensure system performance, technical coherence, and successful mission delivery while working closely with systems, software, mission, and platform engineers.

Alongside project delivery, there will be opportunities to contribute to future space technologies, mission concept studies, research and development activities, and technical bid support, providing exposure to both current and future programmes.
Your Background
- Experience: Developing or delivering Attitude & Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Attitude Determination & Control Systems (ADCS), or equivalent spacecraft control systems
- Mission Types: Experience across one or more of the following mission types:
- Earth Observation satellites
- Communications satellites
- Navigation satellites
- Defence or National Security space programmes
- Scientific or exploration missions
- LEO, MEO, GEO, or deep-space missions
- Skills:
- Translating mission or customer requirements into spacecraft control system solutions
- Understanding of spacecraft dynamics, guidance, navigation, estimation, and control principles
- Supporting system design, analysis, integration, verification, and validation activities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Eligible and willing to obtain UK Security Clearance

Desired
- Experience with spacecraft modelling, simulation, or mission analysis tools
- Exposure to mission operations, commissioning, or in-orbit support activities
- Experience supporting feasibility studies, space technology development, or R&D programmes
- Exposure to technical proposals, customer bids, or early-phase mission studies
- Understanding of wider spacecraft subsystems and systems engineering methodologies

Please note: this position supports UK Eyes Only programmes and therefore requires eligibility for unrestricted UK security clearance. Additional nationality and residency restrictions may apply.
