Job Title: Control Systems Engineer
Location: Warrington
Contract: 12 Months ongoing
Hybrid: 2-3 days required in office, the rest from home
Requirements: BPSS Clearance required to start
About the Role
We're looking for a Control Systems Engineer with PLC experience who wants to take ownership of complex engineering projects. This mid-level role (3-7 years' experience) offers exposure to multiple platforms and a clear pathway to Senior Engineer.
You'll support the full project lifecycle, from design and development through to testing and commissioning of safety-critical control systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC software using platforms such as Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, and Schneider EcoStruxure.
- Configure and support HMI/SCADA systems including FactoryTalk, WinCC, AVEVA/Citect, and Wonderware.
- Support project delivery through design, development, integration, testing (FAT, CAT, SAT), and commissioning.
- Assist with system validation, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
- Produce technical documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
What We're Looking For:
Essential
- Degree/HND in Electrical, Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- PLC and/or SCADA programming experience.
- Knowledge of IEC 61131 programming standards.
- Experience with testing, commissioning, or system integration.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable
- Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider systems.
- SCADA/HMI development experience.
- Background in regulated industries such as Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or Pharma.
Additional Information
- Hybrid working (typically 2-3 days in the office).
- Flexible working hours.
- Some UK travel required for site visits and commissioning.
- BPSS clearance required (SC eligible).
