Role: Controls & Design Engineer

Location: Hadleigh

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: Immediate

We are looking for a Controls & Design Engineer to join an established engineering team. This is a varied role covering design, controls, product development and continuous improvement.

The Role

  • Producing engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Creating work instructions and electrical schematics
  • Supporting new product development, testing and validation
  • Working on continuous improvement of existing products
  • Engineering administration, including part number creation and BOM management
  • Providing application and technical support
  • Researching, developing and testing control systems
  • Creating technical documentation, manuals and guides

About You

  • Engineering or Product Design qualification preferred but not essential
  • CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
  • Experience with electrical and/or diesel control systems
  • PLC, CODESYS or scripting experience would be advantageous
  • 1+ years' experience within a design/engineering environment
  • Experience with rotating machinery, steel fabrication or control systems would be beneficial
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive and keen to learn
