Control & Instrumentation Technician
We stand out. While many instrumentation companies focus strictly on instrument sales, Process Instruments’ CompEx trained professional technicians and engineers are also experts at designing, installing, programming, tuning, and troubleshooting for virtually any control instrumentation or system.
Our equipment is calibrated by UKAS accredited calibration laboratories and is traceable to national standards and we offer our own qualified engineers for projects. We have a suite of fully equipped vans and hold all of the correct insurance documentation for site work.
In essence we provide experienced personnel with technical knowledge, supported by high-precision equipment and instrumentation and championed by our world-leading partners. All work is conducted with the correct verification documentation meaning our customers’ total peace of mind and confidence.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Installation, commissioning, servicing, calibrating and fault diagnostics/repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
- To commission, calibrate and repair onsite instrumentation.
- To work in a variety of industries, within the customer database.
- To liaise with the Engineering Team Leader to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties.
- To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated.
- To adhere to company and site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments.
- To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and the company quality management system.
- Requirement to travel throughout the UK, overseas and possibly offshore.
- Provide services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Engineering Manager.
- Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms

Qualification required:
- Ideally qualified to NVQ L3, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation & control
- Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines is ideal or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience
- A full UK driving licence
- Problem solving and diagnostic skills
- Process Instrumentation or similar experience would be preferred
- To be highly motivated and can work on own initiative or as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working activities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to develop good working relationships with customers
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping

- Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts

Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year

Experience:
- C&I or Electrical Engineering: 2 years (preferred)
