Join us in Controls Assurance
This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of protecting the bank and supporting with the design, development, and undertaking of assurance activity on an end-to-end basis. In this collaborative role, you'll work with a number of risk and control teams to identify risks and address any identified gaps. You'll build your network by supporting management with incidents and issues raised through front-line customer contact.
What you'll do
This role will see you delivering tasks and activities related to the ongoing management of risk issues within the business. You'll be collaborating with internal and external colleagues, auditors, specialists, and stakeholders to identify control gaps, evaluate risks, support compliance activities, and track remediation actions. In addition, you'll ensure activities relating to incident response, user access, alert monitoring, root cause analysis, and scenario planning are completed in line with standard operating procedures and to a high standard.
You'll also plan and analyse operational conduct, credit, and regulatory risks, and identify related issues and areas requiring improvement.
We'll look to you to deliver against channel and central actions, in line with the risk appetite and direction set by management, as well as supporting an effective and efficient assurance function, meeting all policy standard owners, legal and regulatory requirements and expectations.

On Top Of This, You'll Be
- Improving assurance processes, procedures, and scheduling methodologies, making sure that the global methodology and supporting processes are consistent, up to date, and fully aligned with our policy framework
- Working to improve and support the assurance toolset to support a robust process that develops the right outcomes for the bank
- Contributing to the development and delivery of an annual risk-based assurance programme
- Developing and supporting integrated system solutions that drive efficiency savings
- Supporting internal and external audit requests for information and evidence and prepare audit evidence
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll need a background in assurance and risk management methodologies, compliance, along with a strong understanding of identity and access management, control assurance, and the application of operational risk in a financial services environment.
You'll need excellent communication skills as you'll be building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the bank, developing and using these networks across internal and external organisations.

You'll also require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assess risks and interpret control effectiveness. You'll need the ability to translate complex technical concepts in a simplified and concise manner to your peers and management level colleagues.
In Addition, You'll Bring
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A proactive mindset, analytical skills, strong problem-solving ability, and experience leading projects or managing remediation activities
- Knowledge of audit, assurance, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools, and familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR can also be valuable
- An understanding of banking security controls, with the ability to influence at all levels
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines on occasion
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as you'll regularly engage with technical teams, business stakeholders, and auditors to explain findings and drive improvements
