ELV Lead / BMS Controls Engineer Data Centre Construction

£90,000 - £110,000 + Accommodation + Rotation + Living Allowance

Blyth, England, United Kingdom (On-Site)

We're recruiting for an experienced ELV Lead / BMS Controls Engineer to join one of Europe's leading data centre contractors on a major hyperscale data centre project in Blyth, England.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead the delivery of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems on a flagship mission-critical project, taking ownership from installation through to commissioning and final handover.

As the ELV Lead / BMS Controls Engineer, you'll coordinate vendors, manage commissioning activities, resolve technical issues, and ensure all BMS and ELV systems are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of BMS and ELV packages from installation through to commissioning and handover.
  • Chair technical BMS workshops with design teams, consultants, and system vendors.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with third-party vendors and project teams.
  • Attend daily coordination meetings, commissioning meetings, and client progress reviews.
  • Review technical drawings, RFIs, and design submittals while resolving technical queries.
  • Monitor commissioning progress to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Review Level 3 testing results and system performance prior to client acceptance.
  • Carry out QA/QC inspections and ensure systems meet project specifications.
  • Manage commissioning documentation and maintain progress within the commissioning portal.
  • Act as the key technical interface between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
