Controls Engineer (Factory/Airport Automation)

£55,000 - £60,000 + In-House Training + Career Progression + Annual Discretional Bonus + Site Travel

Are you a Controls Engineer or similar, who can write and program PLCs from scratch, looking for a position at a small but highly successful Automation business, who are renowned in the Automation field for their technical expertise, where you will be able to become a key and valued member of their specialist team?

Do you want to work in a role where you will get exposure to the full lifecycle of company Automation and Controls projects, where you will be the technical go-to for customer issues, with the added benefit of in-house training on the company's expertise, career progression into senior positions, and an annual discretional bonus?

On offer is the chance to become an important part of a specialist Engineering team, who design, build, and deliver Automation projects across predominately the warehouse, airport, automotive, and aggregate sectors, who since their creation not long ago, have built up a respected and renowned reputation in the Automation sector.

In this role you will be responsible for working with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and robots. You will be responsible for writing, testing, and programming PLCs from scratch for a variety of Automation systems, consisting predominantly of Seimens, Omron, and Allen Bradley PLCs. You will be involved with early stages of the project with input to tenders and by writing functional design specifications, following this through in software build, in-house testing, on-site commissioning, handover, and go-live support.

This role would suit a Controls Engineer or similar, who can write and program PLCs from scratch, looking for an exciting and varied role at a specialist Automation business who have seen consistent growth since their creation, with the added benefits of in-house training on the company's expertise, scalable career progression into senior roles, and an annual discretional bonus.

The Role

  • Working with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and robots for a variety of Automation projects
  • Being involved throughout the full lifecycle of Automation projects
  • Mixture of office and site-based work
