About The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Controls Engineer roles within manufacturing, process and automation environments. Typical Role Overview
- Location: UK nationwide
- Type: Permanent / Contract
- Day Rate: £250–280 per day (permanent equivalent); £380–450 per day (contract)
- Degree Level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Technical Standard: ISO 9001
What You Would Do
Typical responsibilities could include:
- Designing and implementing controls systems using platforms such as .NET, ASP.NET and relevant automation frameworks
- Developing and maintaining APIs and microservices to support integrated automation workflows
- Contributing to CI/CD pipeline development and deployment processes
- Troubleshooting and optimising existing controls infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate manufacturing requirements into technical solutions
- Supporting the integration of systems with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP where relevant
- Contributing to technical documentation and adherence to quality management systems

What You Could Bring
Most roles of this type require the following:
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- Hands-on experience with controls engineering, automation or process automation
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java,.NET or similar)
- Working knowledge of distributed systems, APIs or microservices architecture
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and ISO 9001 standards
- Authorization to work in the United Kingdom
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP cloud platforms
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or containerisation technologies
- Knowledge of BPMN, UML or systems design methodologies
- SQL database experience
- CI/CD tooling and automation experience
- SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC or SAP RISE exposure
