About The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Controls Engineer roles within manufacturing, process and automation environments. Roles of this type could support the delivery of optimised automated systems and controlled manufacturing processes that drive operational excellence and efficiency.

  • Location: UK nationwide
  • Type: Permanent / Contract
  • Day Rate: £250–280 per day (permanent equivalent); £380–450 per day (contract)
  • Degree Level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Technical Standard: ISO 9001

What You Would Do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Designing and implementing controls systems using platforms such as .NET, ASP.NET and relevant automation frameworks
  • Developing and maintaining APIs and microservices to support integrated automation workflows
  • Contributing to CI/CD pipeline development and deployment processes
  • Troubleshooting and optimising existing controls infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate manufacturing requirements into technical solutions
  • Supporting the integration of systems with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP where relevant
  • Contributing to technical documentation and adherence to quality management systems

What You Could Bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
  • Hands-on experience with controls engineering, automation or process automation
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java,.NET or similar)
  • Working knowledge of distributed systems, APIs or microservices architecture
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and ISO 9001 standards
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or containerisation technologies
  • Knowledge of BPMN, UML or systems design methodologies
  • SQL database experience
  • CI/CD tooling and automation experience
  • SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC or SAP RISE exposure
