Conversion Technician – Light to HGV Technician Training!
Our Ipswitch team is looking for motivated conversion candidates to take their Light Vehicle Technician skills into HGVs—with full training and support from Volvo Truck and Bus.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to transition from Light Vehicle Mechanic (LGV/Cars/Vans/Plants/Motorbikes) into a full-time HGV Technician, complete with a structured conversion program, industry-recognised qualifications, and long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, buses, and industrial vehicles
- Perform inspections, MOT preparations, fault reporting, and service work
- Learn to work on engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and suspension
- Master Volvo-specific diagnostics and service procedures
- Complete technical documentation (job cards, service sheets)
- Work across rotating shifts (Mon-Fri 06:00–14:00 or 14:00–22:00, plus ستة أيام في الأسبوع بسعر ×1.5)

What You’ll Bring
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 (preferably related to Light Vehicle Repair/Motorcycles)
- Proven vehicle experience (LCVs, cars, van, or plant mechanics)
- IT literacy (attention to detail in digital reports)
- Understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, or HGV components
What You’ll Graduate With
✅ IMI-accredited Level 3 Certificate in HGV Maintenance & Repair ✅ Volvo Truck & Bus training programme (certified industry-standard expertise)
