Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting an experienced Conveyancer to join our busy team in Retail Mortgage Services (RMS).

Working out of our Bristol Head Office (our hybrid working options can be discussed at interview) you will be responsible for your own caseload of conveyancing files.

Your Role

As a Conveyancer, your day to day remit includes:

  • Responsibility for own caseload of conveyancing technical files, referring legal aspects to the Team Manager when necessary.
  • Ensuring that telephone calls are dealt with in a professional manner and that full telephone notes are taken.
  • Regularly updating clients and asset managers as to progress of matters.
  • Accompanying management team on client visits with the knowledge and confidence to contribute to meetings/ training.
  • Confident in making decisions on technical legal aspects of sales matters within own caseload and supporting more junior colleagues with queries arising on their caseloads where possible; awareness of when appropriate to escalate to more senior colleagues.
  • Problem solving with facts of the case and confident to discuss the actions with senior members of the wider team.
  • Keeps up to date with changes in current regulations, policies and procedures and technical aspects of conveyancing process/ sharing with colleagues in the sales teams where appropriate.

  • Previous conveyancing experience is essential.
  • Previous experience of title checking freehold, leasehold and shared ownership properties.
  • Previous experience drafting and providing detailed advice and proposed solutions to clients.
  • Demonstrates a natural empathy/affinity with clients and a good telephone manner, with a clear diction.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Demonstrates proactivity and attention to detail.
