Conveyancing Assistant role

We're working with a well-established law firm who are looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy Residential Property team in Exeter. The team provides conveyancing services to clients across England and Wales, with a focus on delivering a personal and efficient service.

This is a varied role supporting property lawyers with both legal and administrative tasks throughout the conveyancing process. The role would suit someone with previous property experience, although this is not essential for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Opening files and assisting with client onboarding.
  • Dealing with client enquiries by telephone and email.
  • Proofreading and preparing legal documents.
  • Using the firm's IT systems and packages.
  • Assisting with property exchanges and completions.
  • Preparing and filing Stamp Duty Land Tax returns.
  • Assisting with registrations of title.
  • Closing and archiving client files.
  • Providing general administrative and legal support to the Residential Property team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
