Company Description

Howarth and Hollings is a well-established conveyancing practice in Keighley, founded in 1988 with a focus on providing friendly, competitive services to clients across England and Wales. The firm was created by partners Peter Howarth and Nigel Hollings, who brought extensive local legal experience to their clients.

In 1993, Nicola Howarth joined the practice, later qualifying and becoming a partner in 2011, ensuring continuity of the firm’s values and client-centered approach. Following Nigel’s recent retirement, Nicola and Stephen remain committed to offering attentive, caring conveyancing services while guiding the firm forward in changing times.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Conveyancing Assistant role based in Keighley. The Conveyancing Assistant will support fee earners with residential and commercial property transactions, including preparing and managing documentation, drafting correspondence, and maintaining accurate files and records.

Responsibilities include liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors, handling routine queries, and ensuring key dates and deadlines are monitored and met. The role also involves conducting basic searches, drafting documents, assisting with completion and post-completion work, and updating internal case management systems. The successful candidate will contribute to a responsive, client-focused service and uphold the firm’s professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong administrative and organizational skills, including accurate document preparation, file management, and attention to detail.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise professionally with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess good IT skills, including familiarity with case management systems, word processing, and digital document handling.
  • Candidates should possess basic knowledge of conveyancing processes or a strong interest in property law, with a willingness to learn and follow procedures.
  • Relevant experience in a legal, property, or professional services environment is beneficial, along with the ability to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • A suitable educational background (such as A-levels or equivalent); legal administrative or conveyancing qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
