Hague & Dixon LLP solicitors are recruiting for a full or part-time conveyancing assistant for our York office. There is scope for progression within the firm for the right candidate.

Key Tasks

  • Opening new files and inputting new instructions onto the firm’s Case Management system
  • Preparing correspondence through audio typing and/or word processing
  • Updating the firm’s Case Management system in accordance with the firm’s procedures as the matter progresses.
  • Issuing contracts on sale files and assisting in dealing with replies to enquiries.
  • Ordering searches.
  • Dealing with exchanges and related paperwork.
  • Setting up completions.
  • Issuing Mortgage reports to clients.
  • Dealing with incoming post where appropriate.
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries where possible.
  • Filing, billing, photocopying, and archiving.
  • General administration duties for the office and firm.

Candidate Requirements

Ideally, a candidate will have/be

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good keyboard skills.
  • Literate and numerate.
  • Able to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of the team.
  • Able to deal with enquiries in a friendly and effective manner.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.

Experience – Essential

  • Experience in a similar fast-paced role
  • 12+ months experience in conveyancing in sales and purchases
