Hague & Dixon LLP solicitors are recruiting for a full or part-time conveyancing assistant for our York office. There is scope for progression within the firm for the right candidate.
Key Tasks
- Opening new files and inputting new instructions onto the firm’s Case Management system
- Preparing correspondence through audio typing and/or word processing
- Updating the firm’s Case Management system in accordance with the firm’s procedures as the matter progresses.
- Issuing contracts on sale files and assisting in dealing with replies to enquiries.
- Ordering searches.
- Dealing with exchanges and related paperwork.
- Setting up completions.
- Issuing Mortgage reports to clients.
- Dealing with incoming post where appropriate.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries where possible.
- Filing, billing, photocopying, and archiving.
- General administration duties for the office and firm.

Candidate Requirements
Ideally, a candidate will have/be
- Strong communication skills
- Good keyboard skills.
- Literate and numerate.
- Able to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of the team.
- Able to deal with enquiries in a friendly and effective manner.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Able to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.

Experience – Essential
- Experience in a similar fast-paced role
- 12+ months experience in conveyancing in sales and purchases
