Conveyancing Legal Assistant
Swindon
Salary up to £35k
Yolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established and highly regarded law firm with the recruitment of a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join its busy residential conveyancing department in Swindon.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous legal experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing high-quality support to lawyers and clients. As a Conveyancing Legal Assistant, you will help the wider team manage property transactions efficiently, taking responsibility for a varied range of administrative and routine legal tasks.
This is what you will be doing
As a Conveyancing Legal Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Supporting conveyancing lawyers with the day-to-day management and progression of residential property transactions.
- Opening new files, typing correspondence, maintaining accurate records and preparing files for billing.
- Ordering property searches and Land Registry documents.
- Preparing straightforward legal documents and liaising with clients and other parties to provide transaction updates.
- Managing incoming calls, post, emails and messages while delivering a professional and friendly service to clients.

The experience you will bring to the team
You will bring the following experience to the Conveyancing team:
- Previous experience working within a legal environment, ideally within residential conveyancing.
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and focused when working at pace or under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office packages, alongside the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Previous conveyancing experience would be advantageous, but no specific professional qualifications are required for this Conveyancing Legal Assistant position.
