About Us
MJV Solicitors is a progressive and client-focused law firm based in Blackpool. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality legal services with a personal touch. Our growing practice specialises in housing disrepair, conveyancing, private client (wills, probate, powers of attorney), and landlord & tenant matters.
We are now looking for a motivated Paralegal to join our friendly and dedicated Conveyancing team.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent role for a law graduate who is keen to gain hands-on experience and build a career in the law. We will provide full training, not only in legal practice but also in the use of our leading case management system, Proclaim.
The position offers a wide range of experience across conveyancing and property work and is likely to meet the criteria for Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) for those working towards the SQE. You’ll start with the fundamentals, learning how a busy law firm operates day-to-day, before progressing to more substantive legal work as your confidence and knowledge grow.

What You’ll Do
At the outset, you’ll be:
- Speaking to clients and taking instructions.
- Opening new files and keeping them organised.
- Handling incoming and outgoing post.
- Sending and responding to emails.
- Taking and recording detailed telephone notes.
As you develop, your responsibilities will grow to include:
- Assisting in drafting letters and emails.
- Assisting with client due diligence and anti-money laundering measures.
- Considering Land Registry and Conveyancing Protocol documents.
- Requesting property searches and preparing contracts.
- Helping to draft straightforward legal documents.
- Considering searches and raising simple enquiries.
- Providing day-to-day assistance to solicitors and fee earners on active matters.

What We’re Looking For
The successful applicant must have a law degree or have another degree and are actively pursuing a career as a solicitor (essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in law, particularly in property and conveyancing.
