Residential Conveyancing Paralegal | Fee-Earning Experience | Established London Firm

If you’re a Paralegal with Residential Property experience looking to develop towards qualification, this is an opportunity to join a busy and supportive London property team where you’ll gain genuine fee-earning experience alongside broader conveyancing support.

You’ll work closely with experienced conveyancers across a range of residential transactions, taking responsibility for elements of matters yourself while developing your knowledge across the full conveyancing process.

The Firm

This is a longstanding, full-service London law firm with 16 solicitors alongside paralegals and support staff, operating across three London offices spanning North West London and the West End.

The firm acts for both businesses and private individuals across property, litigation, corporate and commercial, family and private client work, with many longstanding client relationships.

It has a particularly stable and close-knit culture, with low staff turnover and a strong track record of developing people internally. The current Head of Commercial Litigation is a particularly good example, having originally joined the firm as a Paralegal before training, qualifying and progressing through the practice to become a Partner and Head of Department.

Its relatively compact structure means junior members of the team can work closely with experienced lawyers and gain meaningful exposure to client matters. The firm takes a practical approach to career development, with progression based on individual performance and capability rather than a rigid promotion structure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role

You will join the Residential Property team, supporting conveyancers across a busy and varied caseload while also undertaking fee-earning work of your own.

The work covers residential sales and purchases, mortgages and both freehold and leasehold transactions, with clients ranging from first-time buyers and individuals moving home through to property investors.

You will assist fee earners throughout transactions, help progress matters efficiently and take responsibility for post-completion work, while gradually taking greater ownership of appropriate elements of transactions yourself.

The combination of support work and fee-earning responsibility makes this a particularly good opportunity for a Paralegal looking to build the practical experience and confidence required to progress towards becoming a Solicitor.
