Conveyancer / Conveyancing Solicitor - Newcastle upon Tyne

We’re delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Newcastle upon Tyne to recruit an experienced Conveyancer / Conveyancer / Conveyancing Solicitor to join its busy and well-established residential property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced conveyancer who is confident managing their own caseload and is looking to join a supportive, collaborative team where quality, client care, and professional development are genuinely valued.

You’ll work on a varied range of residential property transactions, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and contribute to the continued development of the department.

The Role

As a Conveyancer / Conveyancing Solicitor, you’ll manage your own residential conveyancing caseload with a high degree of autonomy, while working as part of a large and supportive property team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload, working towards a caseload of approximately 90–120 files.
  • Handling transactions from instruction through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Dealing with a range of more complex matters, including leasehold, remortgages, Transfers of Equity, new builds, shared ownership, company purchases, and auctions.
  • Managing redemptions and other associated residential property matters.
  • Reviewing title reports and signing off files for exchange where appropriate.
  • Ensuring files are progressed efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of client care.
  • Meeting agreed time recording, billing, and performance targets.
  • Conducting regular file reviews to ensure compliance, accuracy, and quality.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior fee earners, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve departmental processes.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider property department.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Conveyancer or Conveyancing Solicitor with at least five years' experience of independently managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing your own residential conveyancing files.
  • Strong technical knowledge across residential property transactions.
  • Experience handling complex matters and the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • The ability to manage a substantial caseload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and client-care skills.
  • A professional, proactive, and collaborative approach.
  • The confidence to work independently while also supporting and mentoring colleagues.
  • An interest in contributing to business development and continuous improvement.
