Role Description
The Conveyor Belt Fitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Mirfield, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing conveyor belts at customer locations and within the workshop. Day-to-day activities include:

The role involves using hand tools and machinery safely, following technical drawings and job specifications, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. The Conveyor Belt Fitter will also complete job documentation, communicate with supervisors and customers about work progress, and assist with loading, unloading, and transporting belts and materials as required. The position may include occasional out-of-hours work or travel to customer sites, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications
- Solid mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment for installation and repair tasks.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, measurements, and work instructions with strong attention to detail and quality.
- Understanding of basic health and safety practices, including manual handling, working at height, and safe operation of equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills, including diagnosing belt and conveyor issues and identifying practical repair or replacement solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Willingness to work in industrial environments and occasionally outside standard hours, with a flexible and reliable approach.
- Full, valid driver’s license (or ability to travel to customer sites by agreed means) preferred.
- Prior experience in conveyor belt fitting, mechanical maintenance, or a similar industrial/engineering role is an advantage but not essential; relevant training may be provided.
