Spire Cheshire Hospital in Warrington is looking for a Chef / Cook to join our friendly and experienced hospitality team on a permanent, part-time basis. Working Hours
This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week.
Shifts are scheduled between:
- 5:30am to 2:00pm
- 11:00am to 7:00pm
- Monday to Friday
- Alternate weekends included

About the Role
As a Chef / Cook, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of high-quality food and beverages across the hospital.
You will help prepare and present meals for patients, staff, consultants, and visitors, ensuring all food is delivered to a high standard and in line with hygiene, safety, and nutritional requirements.
You will also support the wider catering team and deputise in the absence of the Senior Chef when required.

Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to the required standard
- Supporting the delivery of food and beverages for patients, staff, consultants, and visitors
- Assisting with service in the staff restaurant and ensuring food counters are well stocked
- Preparing food and beverages for special functions and hospital events
- Supporting patients with individual dietary needs or preferences
- Ensuring all HACCP, food hygiene, and health and safety guidelines are followed and recorded
- Checking deliveries and ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Carrying out cleaning duties in line with kitchen schedules
- Maintaining clean, safe, and tidy working conditions at all times
- Supporting colleagues and building positive working relationships across the team
- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing great food and delivering excellent service.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in a kitchen environment
- Experience cooking for larger numbers of people
- Previous experience in a restaurant-style kitchen, hospital, ward, or visitor-facing catering environment
- Good communication skills
- A positive and professional approach to customer service
- The ability to build rapport with patients, visitors, colleagues, and consultants
- A calm and organised approach when working under pressure
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis
- A willingness to take ownership of your own training and development

Basic food hygiene and / or catering certificates would be desirable, but they are not essential.
