The Hambro Arms is a bar and restaurant with rooms, known for offering exceptional food in a welcoming and characterful setting. Located in a historic building, the venue combines traditional charm with modern conveniences to create a comfortable experience for guests. Newly refurbished, it provides stylish pub with practical accommodation for the right person. The team is focused on quality service, a friendly family atmosphere, and consistently high standards in both food and hospitality.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Cook role based at The Hambro Arms in Blandford Forum. The Cook will prepare and cook menu items to a high standard, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely service during busy periods. Daily tasks include assisting with menu preparation, organizing ingredients, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, and adhering to food hygiene and safety regulations. The Cook will work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service and may help with stock rotation, waste reduction, and occasional input on specials or menu improvements.

  • Professional experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role in pubs, restaurants, or hotels.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and portion control.
  • Understanding of food hygiene, safety standards, and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently during peak service times and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Reliability in working part-time shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Relevant culinary training or certifications in food safety are beneficial.
  • Interest in high-quality, traditional pub and restaurant cuisine, with willingness to learn and adapt.
