About The Role
Are you passionate about nourishing young minds with delicious, healthy meals? We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary School Cook to run our kitchen and serve approximately 60 meals a day.
Our school is a small, close-knit community with exceptionally high standards of pupil behavior, making our kitchen a positive, calm, and rewarding environment to work in.
The role is term time only, 22.5 hours per week, 10am - 2.30pm M-F.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, nutritious, and appealing school meals daily.
- Maintain rigorous standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance.
- Manage administrative duties, including food ordering, stock rotation, and compliance paperwork.
- Actively engage with pupils, creating a warm dining environment that encourages them to try new foods and increases meal take-up.

What We Are Looking For
- A genuine passion for healthy eating and child nutrition.
- Experience in food preparation and commercial kitchen management.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and kitchen safety procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills to handle stock, ordering, and simple paperwork.
- A friendly, encouraging personality who loves interacting with children.
