Location: Thorpe Forest (Norfolk)
Salary: £12.71 to £13.95 per hour
Working Hours: Part-time, 30 hours.
Days of Work: 3-4 days per week. Shifts will vary Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 08:30 and 20:30.
Transport: Please note that our location is not accessible by public transport. Therefore, a valid driving licence and access to a car, or another reliable means of transport, are essential for this role.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join our friendly team at Thorpe Forest.
Be a part of making special escapes in one of the UK’s most peaceful forest locations, developing your skills while ensuring our cabins are beautifully prepared for every guest. Our cabins offer a natural escape beside the banks of the River Thet, close to where the Norfolk and Suffolk borders meet. Choose a cabin beneath the tranquil canopy of the forest or opt for a more open aspect in the picturesque woodland glade.
About the Cook role:
As the Cook, you’ll play an important role in delivering warm, welcoming food to guests throughout their stay.
Working from our menu and specifications, you’ll prepare and cook dishes with care, ensuring they are presented to a high and consistent standard. Our on-site Cooks play a key role in putting the finishing touches to our dishes, helping deliver a smooth kitchen service while keeping our food quality and standards high for our guests.
Our kitchen can be fast-paced during busy holiday periods, but it’s also a supportive team environment where attention to detail, organisation and pride in your work make all the difference.

Alongside preparing food, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen, ensuring food safety standards and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items following our recipes and specifications
- Ensure food is presented to a consistently high standard
- Support a smooth and efficient kitchen service during busy periods
- Maintain excellent hygiene, food safety and health & safety standards
- Complete kitchen checks and required food safety paperwork
- Follow cleaning schedules to keep the kitchen safe, tidy and well organised
🍴 About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with food and takes pride in delivering a great experience for guests.
You’ll thrive in a busy environment and understand the importance of quality, consistency and teamwork in a kitchen.
Ideally, you will have experience in a similar catering role, but just as important is a positive attitude, reliability and a passion for good food and service.
You’ll bring:
- Experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
- A positive and friendly attitude
- A strong focus on food quality and presentation
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence working in a fast-paced service environment
