About The Role

We're recruiting for a Chef / Cook to join a well-established organisation in Leicestershire. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team where you'll take responsibility for preparing and cooking a varied range of meals, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and presentation are maintained.
As a Chef / Cook, you'll be responsible for:
- Preparing meals throughout the day, working from menus and catering for a range of dietary requirements.
- Playing an important role in ensuring meals are nutritious, well presented and prepared to a consistently high standard.
What You'll Be Doing As a Chef / Cook
- Preparing and cooking a varied range of fresh, nutritious meals
- Creating menus and recipes while ensuring meals are prepared to a high standard and to dietary needs
- Catering for individual dietary requirements, allergies and specific preferences
- Preparing meals, snacks and beverages as required
- Ensuring food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperature
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety
- Monitoring food stock levels and helping with ordering and stock rotation
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure meals are prepared and served on time
- Completing relevant food safety and kitchen records
- Following all health and safety, food hygiene and company procedures

What We're Looking For In a Chef / Cook
- Previous experience working as a Chef, Cook or within a school, catering or similar food service environment
- Experience preparing meals in volume and working to set menus
- Good understanding of food hygiene, allergen management and dietary requirements
- Experience working in a busy kitchen where organisation and timing are important
- A passion for preparing fresh, nutritious and enjoyable food
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy kitchen
- Reliable, practical and able to work well as part of a team
- A friendly and professional approach with a genuine pride in your work
- Relevant food hygiene qualifications would be advantageous
