About The Role
We are looking for an energetic, organized, and reliable Cook to join a busy, high-standard kitchen team. This role is for one of our key clients: a fast-growing, leading technology company known for its dynamic culture and high standards of employee experience. Working a desirable Monday to Friday schedule, you will prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes for buffet services, café offerings, and laboratory production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene. You will work closely with the wider kitchen team to guarantee smooth operations and a seamless daily experience for the client's teams.
Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation for Buffet and Café
Prepare hot and cold dishes, sandwiches, small pastries, and other food items for buffet setups and café offerings, meeting the company's quality standards.

Food Production in the Laboratory
Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes for large-scale production, in accordance with standardized recipes and production guidelines.

Menu & Recipe Adherence
Follow prescribed menus and recipes, ensuring ingredients are used according to specification and dishes are consistent in taste, presentation, and quality.

Stock & Inventory Management
Assist with monitoring and managing food inventory levels, ensuring the kitchen is properly stocked. Manage stock rotation correctly to prevent wastage.

Quality Control & Presentation
Ensure all food items are presented attractively and meet the required quality standards. Perform regular quality checks to maintain consistency in taste and appearance.

Hygiene & Safety
Maintain a high standard of hygiene in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food items. Adhere to all food safety regulations and company processes to ensure the safety of food prepared. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, equipment, countertops, and storage areas.

Team Collaboration & Event Support
Work closely with other kitchen staff, such as assistants and kitchen managers, to ensure smooth food preparation and timely service. Assist in preparing food for internal events or special occasions, according to the client's preferences and specifications. Foster a culture of mutual respect and effective communication within the team and with the client, even during intense service periods.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience preparing hot and cold dishes, with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques, presentation, and culinary standards.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Punctuality, strong organizational skills, and excellent adaptability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, with good communication skills to coordinate with other staff members.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring food is prepared to the highest quality standards and presented attractively.
Requirements: Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certification (or willingness to complete it upon hiring) and Allergen Awareness training.
