Responsibilities of Gator’s Dockside Kitchen Associates

All Gator’s Dockside Kitchen Associates, labeled as “Cook” or “Prep Cook” have specific duties regarding the safety, sanitation, cleanliness, preparation, service, and storage of all food and/or foodservice products.

Duties

  • Safety and Compliance: Know and follow all standards, policies, and procedures outlined by the corporate office and in-store management. Communicate any discrepancies with management to ensure safety and compliance with health, fire, and safety codes.
  • Training and Certification: Receive training materials and directions. Follow instructions at all times. Retain a current food safety certification.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Given specific cleaning projects by management. Complete these projects as part of their job duties.
  • Interaction: Interact with management and hourly employees in a friendly and non-coercive manner.
  • Presentation and Procedures: Maintain proper presentation, portion size, and cooking procedures of menu items as outlined in manuals provided by the corporate office and management.
  • Timeliness: Ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner and work to the best of their ability within the reasonable constraints of time given by management.
  • Kitchen Manager: Work directly with the Kitchen Manager on a daily basis, carrying out all assigned duties. There is no specific “out time” on the schedule, as management reserves the right to maintain an employee as business requires.
  • Shift End: Work shifts end when the employee has checked out and received approval from both the closing or assigned hourly employee responsible for checking their work and after checking in with a manager before leaving both their workstation and the restaurant.

It is the duty of all employees of Gator’s Dockside to help with the cleaning and maintaining of all common areas of the restaurant as directed by management, including but not limited to:

  • Restrooms
  • Dining room floors
  • Kitchen floors
  • Restaurant walls
  • Shelving
  • Sidewalks
  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Games
  • Ice and soda machines
  • Drink stations
  • Carpets
  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • Cabinets
