Coordination & Business Development Manager Data Center Solutions

Data center infrastructure is one of the fastest-growing electricity demand segments. As Coordination & Business Development Manager Data Center Solutions, you connect and coordinate the external Data Center world with internal stakeholders to foster and build the energization of the digital infrastructure of tomorrow.

Your mandate: build and extend the external Data Center network, coordinate and coordinate the UK Data Center activities with highly skilled and diverse teams, identify and develop energization concepts, and drive transactions from ideation to contract signature - as Deal Architect and Relationship Owner.

Your responsibilities

Coordination, Deal Origination & Commercial Structuring

  • Identify and qualify Uniper’s UK sites and assets according to customer needs for Data Center developments in close cooperation with Uniper COO functions
  • Evaluation and development of power related Customer Capacity Contracts or any other commercial Data Center opportunities leveraging existing and new generation assets e.g. Gas engines, CCGTs in UK
  • End-to-end involvement from ideation and development of “Powered Land” and “Private Wire” concepts until the Financial Decisions
  • Very good understanding of grid and power related Data Center challenges and needs
  • Structuring of commercial agreements for e.g. behind-the-meter, dedicated grid connection/ private wire, and long-term power supply and capacity contracts from existing or new assets

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain an overview of all Data Center related activities for the UK
  • Act as a deputy for UK to the Head of “Commercial Asset Solutions Europe”
  • Coordinate and maintain existing Data Center customer network covering the full datacenter deal value chain e.g. Hyperscaler, Private Equity project developers and Operators
  • Actively contributing to the evolution of Uniper's Data Center strategy and support new business models in cooperation with Innovation
  • Lead commercial negotiations at decision-maker level (C-Suite, VP Infrastructure) with customers and partners
  • Close collaboration and coordination with Power, Real Estate, Business Controlling, Legal and Risk to ensure a holistic approach towards Data Centers opportunities

Your profile

  • University degree e.g. in Engineering, Business Administration or Legal
  • Strong commercial mindset, communication and negotiation skills with proven track record in taking ownership and driving results
  • Track record in developing long term business relationships
  • Ability to manage a complex network of stakeholders from e.g. customers, partners, and local authorities at all levels
  • Proven capabilities of coordinating in a cross functional environment
  • Significant project management skills & experience within infrastructure projects
  • Good technical understanding of electrical infrastructure and grid operator structures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in an international environment required
  • Fluency in English required, additional languages are beneficial
