Job Description Summary

The Business Development Coordinator (FTC) supports business development and marketing initiatives, including events, pitches and proposals, directories, client relationship management, research and key BD projects, while providing day-to-day support to the London office and wider BD team. This is a 6 month FTC role.

Job Description

The Business Development Coordinator will:

  • Events: Manage lists, RSVPs, invitations and materials; coordinate name badges and couriers; check conference set-up; follow up with attendees and no-shows.
  • Directories: Support BD Specialists/BD Managers with content, conversions, submission tracking, matter capture, accolades, quotes and database updates.
  • New joiner admin support: Managing biographies, photos, documents and contacts.
  • CRM: Maintain lists and client updates, carry out client searches and act as a first point of contact for best practice.
  • Matter capture, tracking and financials: Support with client relationship reports, matter description uploads and key client reports.
  • Research: Support BD Specialists/BD Managers with research on conferences, awards, sponsorships, clients, industry associations and trends; track and report updates and alerts.
  • Pitch support: Assist with drafts, edits, tombstones and credentials searches, including international requests; upload pitches to DealCloud.
  • Project support: Provide ad hoc BD support on larger initiatives such as thought leadership, flagship events and strategic internal projects.
  • Budgets: Submit expense requests and track spend.
  • General admin: Manage invoices and expenses, matter capture updates, credentials lists and materials, including conversion to new branding, ad hoc web updates, PowerPoint pitch biographies and accolade tracking and maintenance of the professional headshot library.

PROFICIENCIES

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced proficiency in online research and internet resources
  • A good understanding of Foundation, Dealcloud or similar (preferred but not essential)
  • Fundamental proficiency in English language usage, including punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts preferred but not essential

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of marketing experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a professional services or legal environment (preferred)

Proficiencies

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of CRM systems
  • Proficiency in online research and internet resources
  • Research skills and ability to turn data into useful deliverables
  • Knowledge of the needs and expectations of law firm operations, partners, and clients
  • Knowledge of networking and relationship management
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in legal or professional services industry (required)
