Location: London with hybrid working (2-3 days in the office)

Position type: Contractor (umbrella – inside IR35) from mid-September 2026 until 12th March 2027; Full-Time

About the team

The team is led by the Director, Government Convening and is comprised of a senior manager, a manager, and 2-5 coordinators, working closely with operations, content, marketing and regional teams.

The team manages government participation across a wide portfolio of GSMA events, including the M360 Series, MWC Shanghai, and the Ministerial Programmes at MWC Barcelona, MWC Kigali and MWC Doha. These convenings bring together industry CEOs, ministers, telecom regulators, data protection authorities, and senior representatives of intergovernmental organisations.

Our flagship event is the Ministerial Programme at MWC Barcelona, which brings together the most influential telecommunications leaders from across the world.


About the role

You will engage closely with external and internal stakeholders, coordinating the attendance of government and inter-government representatives at the GSMA Ministerial Programme at MWC Barcelona 2027, with a focus on the Middle East North Africa region.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the government and inter-government delegations’ attendance at the Ministerial Programme in Barcelona, such as database collection and management, invitation process and follow up, onsite logistics, Embassy involvement and pass registration.

You will support the delivery and set up of roundtable sessions and bilateral meetings, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. Potential onsite support in Barcelona to deliver the event is typically one week but will be dependent on team needs.


About you

  • You are self-motivated and committed, able to work autonomously as well as being a strong team player.
  • You have excellent personal organisation, prioritisation, and workload management skills.
  • Your attention to detail is exceptional and you can track changes and predict their subsequent implications.
  • You also have solid data processing experience and a high-level technical competence in standard Microsoft Office products.
  • You may have knowledge in dealing with government delegations, experience working with CRM software and database management, and professional translation experience.
  • You may have worked in an international environment before and are willing to travel internationally.
  • French language proficiency is desirable but not required.
