Company Description

Read Easy Central Sussex is a non-profit organisation that provides free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for adults. Each Reader is paired with a trained volunteer Coach and works at their own pace in a supportive environment. There are no classrooms, no tests, and no judgement, just encouragement and steady progress. Learning to read changes lives!

Role Description

We are looking for one Coordinator to cover the Brighton area, and another for the Worthing area. These are ongoing volunteer roles, requiring a few hours each week.

As Coordinator, you'll be the first point of contact for an adult who would like to learn to read with us. You'll make the new Reader feel comfortable and welcome, assess and enrol them, then pair them with a volunteer reading coach. You'll support reading pairs throughout their journeys. You'll also be involved with interviewing potential coaches, and will report back to the group's management team on the progress of reading pairs. Training is provided for the role, and there is ongoing guidance from Read Easy UK (national charity). You'll have the full support of the Read Easy Central Sussex management team, including a Literacy Specialist.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

It is a very flexible role. You'll mainly work from home, meeting up in person with new 'Readers', and reading pairs as needed. (Coaching takes place in public venues such as libraries). You'll need to attend coach meetings (approximately every 6-8 weeks) and will be invited to the group's management team meetings (4+ per year). The number of reading pairs you support will depend on the time you have available for the role.

Coordinator is one of the most rewarding roles within Read Easy. You'll follow Readers' progress, witness how happy they are with their achievements, and see how they gain confidence, and opportunities open up for them as their reading skills improve.
