Adoption & Fostering – MDA Coordinator/Patient Pathway Administrator
We are seeking to appoint an Adoption & Fostering – MDA Coordinator/Patient Pathway Administrator to join our Community Paediatric team at Oxford Children's Hospital.
The post will be based at John Radcliffe Hospitals as part of Oxford University Hospital.
About the Role
This post is crucial to the ongoing development of the services and would suit a candidate who has excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be expected to liaise with staff and colleagues at all levels. You should have the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload to tight deadlines. You will need to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in your approach and be able to work in a pressurised and busy environment.
Knowledge of the Trust's Electronic Patient Record System (EPR) and knowledge of elective access standards would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
This position requires the demonstration of strong organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as being a team member. If you are self-motivated, enthusiastic and keen to join our team then we would encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all referrals for the Adoption & Fostering (A&F) and Multidisciplinary Assessment (MDA) are managed using the comprehensive departmental database to record all key information regarding forthcoming assessments and current waiting times.
- Liaise closely with families to co-ordinate appointments, answer questions regarding the process and ensure that they are well supported in line with Trust values.
- Liaise with a wide range of professionals from within the Trust and outside to ensure that assessments are completed with all key information collated and all key personal are aware of timings well in advance of appointments.
- Link closely with the consultant lead for A&F and MDA to consider any changes and developments necessary to the smooth and efficient running of the service.
- Due to the specific needs of this client group and the demands on the professional team a flexible approach and good communication skills are essential.
- Attend to A&F and MDA meetings as requested and complete any required action.
- Strong IT skills and attention to detail due to handling large amounts of patient data.
- Collaborate closely within the team, providing support and cross-cover as needed to maintain service continuity.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with external agencies, ensuring consistent information flow and comprehensive administrative support.
