Who we are

At Frontiers, we are on a mission to make science open. Most research today sits behind paywalls, meaning only people at well-funded universities or those who can pay get to read it. Open access flips that: every article we publish is peer-reviewed and made available online to anyone, anywhere at no cost. As one of the world’s largest and most influential open-access publishers, we’ve seen Frontiers research cited 16 million times, and viewed and downloaded more than 5.3 billion times, proof of what science without barriers can do.

What you'll do

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Copyediting Specialist. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your copyediting expertise at a rapidly growing open access publisher, working at the heart of academic journal publishing operations. The role requires a professional, self-motivated approach and the ability to copyedit quickly and accurately to the highest quality standards.

  • Copyedit STM/HSS journal articles for clarity, accuracy and structure, addressing spelling, punctuation, grammar and style
  • Ensure all articles maintain a professional, academic tone, while preserving the author’s voice
  • Check text for readability and adherence to the Frontiers Copyediting House Style Guide
  • Perform quality control for articles copyedited by Frontiers’ external suppliers
  • Liaise with other members of the Copyediting Team to resolve editing and workflow issues
  • Collaborate with and provide support for the larger Production team to ensure that all articles requiring copyediting (at any language-quality level) are published on time to the highest quality standards
  • Troubleshoot publishing platform issues in collaboration with IT
  • Contribute to Copyediting Team, Production and interdepartmental initiatives and special projects
  • Develop and implement individual copyediting-related special projects
  • Report to the Copyediting Manager

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
