Role Summary

We’re looking for a creative, energetic Copywriter to help us deepen our customer’s connection to our brand. You’ll join our in-house creative team in the Marketing department and collaborate closely with a squad of marketers focused on improving customer loyalty. For this, your creative ideas will feed into our loyalty strategy, and you’ll bring them to life with engaging copy that keeps current shoppers coming back week after week. From enticing seasonal catalogues to surprise gifts, you’ll play a key role in delivering buckets of joy to our customers. You’ll also get to know the brilliant people behind our products as you attend monthly Buying immersion days and visit our farmers to see first-hand what makes them so special.

The role reports into the Brand & Content Lead, and is based in our Head Office in Fulham/Putney. We expect a minimum of 2 days per week in the office for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive brand loyalty through storytelling across both digital and print, from catalogues and weekly newsletters to email and SMS campaigns and much more!
  • Collaborate with other creatives to ideate exciting and commercially effective concepts that shape our joy-led loyalty strategy
  • Edit the work of contributors to our high standards – whether that’s from our freelance roster, or our very own internal experts
  • Have a thorough understanding of Abel & Cole’s mission, brand values, and tone of voice principles
  • Have a thorough understanding of Abel & Cole’s audience segments, using this information to focus all content
  • Get stuck into an exciting range of briefs, juggling multiple projects throughout our two-week sprints to deliver them on time and to our high-quality standards
  • Proactively stay abreast of content industry updates, competitor activities, and inspirational case studies
  • Make the most of training opportunities to help develop your skillset, including tone of voice, UX best practice, and SEO best practice

  • Compelling storyteller with creative flair, your portfolio demonstrates your experience working with brand guidelines to produce both print and digital work that achieved commercial results.
  • You’re comfortable working across channels, from short-form copy to longer-form editorial pieces, and can demonstrate writing for an omnichannel campaign (even better if it’s been for a food brand!)
  • You’re full of ideas and approach every brief with the same level of creative energy, taking inspiration from a range of sources to enliven your work
  • Exceptional standards for accuracy, you take great pride in ensuring all work is on-brief, on-brand, and free from errors at all times
  • A thorough understanding of writing digital copy for SEO
  • Experience utilising AI to support you in your work
  • An editorial eye, able to refine the work of others when needed
  • Ability to independently manage own workload and juggle multiple deadlines each week, delivering ahead of deadlines whilst being mindful of other collaborators’ input
  • A collaborative and approachable team player, you bring buckets of energy to every concepting brainstorm, always pushing for improvements to get the best possible results
