SUNx Malta is looking for a Copywriter to join our small, dedicated communications team.
This is a voluntary, unpaid internship offering an opportunity to gain practical experience creating content for an international organisation focused on Climate Friendly Travel, sustainable tourism and climate action.
You’ll work closely with our Programme Manager and help develop clear, engaging and impactful copy across SUNx’s digital channels and programmes.
The Role
As Copywriter, your focus will be supporting the marketing and communications activities of SUNx Malta.
This will include:
- Writing articles to promote Climate Friendly Travel (CFT) to different audiences
- Writing and editing copy for social media, websites, newsletters and digital campaigns
- Supporting the development of our monthly eXist bulletin
- Creating content around CFT, sustainability, climate action and tourism
- Developing copy to promote events including the Strong Earth Festival and Awards
- Supporting communications for our Registry, CFT Chapters, and Education programmes

About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about writing, communications, sustainability and climate action, with a strong interest in sustainable tourism or related fields.
You should have:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Demonstrable copywriting or content-writing experience
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences
- Experience with social media and digital communications
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Confidence working independently as part of a small, international team
- A genuine interest in Climate Friendly Travel and sustainability

A degree or relevant experience in Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations or a similar discipline would be valuable. Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, SEO, website content or digital marketing would also be an advantage.
