Reports to: Creative Director
We make bags and accessories for the people building the future. Engineers, founders, designers, makers. People in the arena, doing the work, often without proof. We’re building the future too, in our own way.
Fifteen years in. Fourteen times bigger in the last five. B Corp certified. Wirecutter’s pick for best laptop backpack. The work we do has substance.
Every word Troubadour publishes should sound like Troubadour: calm, considered, quietly confident. This role makes sure it does.
This is not a typical copywriting job, so we'll be straight about it. You will write, and write well, across web, email, social, packaging and campaigns. You will also be the final judgement on all copy in the business, and you will train the AI writing system our whole team uses. We call it the Brand Voice Engine, and it's one of five AI products we're building across the company.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

AI can produce sentences all day. Deciding which one is right, and which one sounds like us, still takes a person with good judgement. That person is you. If AI makes you nervous, this isn't the role. If you want to be the one teaching it what good writing sounds like, it is.
What You'll Do
- Write the copy that matters most: product pages, launches, campaigns and founder communications.
- Review and edit copy from across the business: site, email, social, ads, packaging and internal comms. Hold the standard and help others reach it.
- Own the Brand Voice Engine: train it, improve it, and turn our voice into guidelines and examples the whole team can use.
- Write captions and short-form copy for organic social with our Community & Social Lead.
- Support launches and campaigns across channels, adapting for each format without losing the voice.
- Edit for accuracy, clarity and tone. Error-free and on schedule.
