Job Title - Core Business Support Officer
Location - Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, B69 3DE
Salary - Band D, SCP 9–17 (£27,254 – £31,022 per annum)
Contract - 12-month Fixed Term/ Secondment
Closing date – 21 August 2026
Interviews – 8 September 2026
Hours – 37 Hours per week
We are looking for someone who will enjoy working as part of a team supporting Regulatory Services.
- You will be self-motivated, taking a proactive approach to your work organising and prioritising your workload and be driven to meeting deadlines.
- You will be expected to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, and always deliver excellent customer service.

To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a business support/administrative environment
- Advanced fluency with Microsoft Outlook and Office Programmes
- Be confident working in a high-pressure environment, managing competing priorities
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
