Summary
We are seeking a Cornerstone LMS Lead to drive the technical configuration, audit, and optimisation of our Cornerstone OnDemand platform in support of a major Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) regulatory project.
You will be responsible for mapping, building, and delivering mandatory training and compliance competencies for approximately 150 critical water quality roles.
In this technical lead position, you will resolve legacy configuration issues, establish data cleanliness best practices, optimise our Workday integration, and enhance technical training management on TAP.
Working alongside dedicated Subject Matter Experts who manage stakeholder negotiation, your focus will be purely on evaluating technical feasibility and executing robust system solutions.
Additionally, you will mentor a junior colleague, guiding their technical development and delegating routine administration to build internal team capability.
Main Responsibilities
System Audit & Maintenance
- System Audit: Conduct a full, ground-up audit of Cornerstone to identify configuration errors, operational inefficiencies, and root causes of performance issues.
- Issue Resolution: Take technical leadership of complicated system errors to implement high-standard internal fixes, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of day-to-day platform workflows.
- Data Hygiene: Perform routine and general system cleanup, including archiving or deactivating obsolete content, maintaining data cleanliness, and optimising system health.
“Compliance Hub” & Complex Training Configurations
- Compliance Hub Migration: Scope out the requirements and present an assessment to a technical Lead whether the business should progress with a transition of training assignments from the current Learning Assignment Tool (LAT) / event-based curricula to the new role-based Compliance Hub.
- Role Mapping: Establish standardized processes and configure technical system architectures to facilitate automated, role-based assignment of training and robust tracking of organizational compliance.
- Transition Planning: Develop and execute a phased transition plan to implement the Compliance Hub (or other chosen method) without disrupting ongoing compliance requirements.
- Custom Parameters: Configure complex, highly specific training rules and prerequisites (e.g., equipment or mask parameter requirements for confined space safety training).
Competency & Career Automation
- Career Progression: Review Cornerstone’s built-in competency mechanisms to automate career progression schemes currently managed manually.
- Competency checks: Programme functionality to support operational schemes and general competency. This may include checkbox confirmations to verify colleagues have read and understood processes and are competent at certain levels about different subjects/tasks.
- Report Configuration: Review and build both out-of-the-box and custom reports to ensure zero setup mismatches or reporting errors.
- Performance System Prep: Configure, test, and verify the annual review system ('I reviews') ahead of company-wide performance cycles.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
