Job Title

This role supports a Japanese Equity Desk and involves regular interaction with Japanese-speaking stakeholders, clients, and colleagues. As a result, the successful candidate must possess strong bilingual communication skills in both Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken form. Fluency in both languages is essential to support day-to-day business activities, facilitate cross-border collaboration, and ensure the accurate interpretation and exchange of information within a fast-paced and highly regulated financial markets environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide Investor Relations and Corporate Access services to Daiwa's corporate and institutional clients, combining client-facing responsibilities with bilingual operational support to deliver successful engagement between listed companies and investors.

Corporate Access Coordination and Arrangement

  • Respond to meeting and video conference requests from investors
  • Arrange investors’ business trips to Europe
  • Arrange NDRs for European companies in Japan and Asia
  • Arrange group video conferences for European companies, including:
    • Attracting participants
    • Moderating the conference on the day
  • Arrange and accompany European company visit tours
  • Arrange DIC Tokyo

Research Distribution

  • Translate research reports into Japanese and distribute them to investors, primarily by email

Analyst Group Meetings

  • Arrange analyst group meetings, including:
    • Attracting participants
    • Moderating the meetings

Sales Activities

  • Conduct sales calls with investors

Qualifications and Experience

  • Native or professional business-level fluency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken).
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in finance, corporate access, investor relations, operations, or project coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese business culture and corporate protocol.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with Salesforce, Oracle, and other CRM or business systems is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Resilient and able to work effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and client-focused with a collaborative approach to work.
  • Full, unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
  • Prior sales or financial industry experience is not required, but would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and/or relevant professional experience.
