Head Office Accountant
A growing real estate business is seeking a qualified accountant to join its expanding finance team in a broad and varied Head Office Accountant position.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, this opportunity is ideally suited to an ACA-qualified accountant looking to make their first move from practice into industry. The role offers significant responsibility from day one, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the chance to play a key role within a high-performing finance function.
You'll take ownership of key head office accounting activities, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to the continued development of the finance function. Over time, the position is expected to evolve, providing increasing exposure to financial planning and analysis responsibilities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ownership of the month-end accounting and reporting process for a number of operating entities
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting
- Analysis of operational and head office costs, investigating variances and identifying key trends
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Partnering with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to provide insight and challenge
- Assisting with statutory reporting, audits and compliance requirements
- Supporting cash flow reporting and working capital management
- Driving process improvements and helping to enhance financial controls and reporting frameworks
- Producing ad hoc analysis to support business decision making
- Acting as a key finance contact for designated business areas

What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA OR equivalent) ideally trained within a Big 4 or leading accountancy practice
- 1-3 years' post-qualified experience, either in practice or having recently made the move into industry
- Strong technical accounting foundation combined with a commercial mindset
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of deliverables
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business
- Analytical, inquisitive and naturally proactive in solving problems
- Looking for a long-term opportunity with clear progression into FP&A and broader commercial finance responsibilities
