Job Title

Corporate Actuary, Actuarial Analytics & Insights, Protection, Europe

Job Description

Corporate Actuary, Actuarial Analytics & Insights, Protection, Europe

Pacific Life Re is a global life reinsurer operating across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, and part of Pacific Life, a mutual insurance group. We do things differently: challenging industry thinking, innovating with purpose and delivering high-quality protection, savings and retirement reinsurance solutions.

The Team

The Actuarial Analytics & Insights, Protection team sits within Corporate Actuarial (CA), part of Divisional Business Services (DBS), and supports the Protection Line of Business.

The team analyses financial results and balance sheet movements across US GAAP, Internal Economic Capital (EC), Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and relevant regional statutory bases. Its focus is to generate clear insight, deepen understanding of Protection performance and support PL Re’s strategic priorities.

The team works closely with Valuation, Actuarial Systems & Projects, Finance, Operations, R&D and the wider Protection business.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong actuary to join the Protection AA&I team at PL Re.

Reporting to the AVP, AA&I, Protection, Europe, the role offers varied, high-impact work, exposure to senior management and the chance to influence the future direction of Europe Protection and wider PL Re. It requires strong actuarial judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to explain risks, results and balance sheet movements clearly.

The successful candidate will lead analysis of quarterly business results, translate findings into clear insight and help identify opportunities that add value to the Europe Protection business.

The role works across DBS, CA and the Protection Line of Business, requiring strong stakeholder management, fast learning and practical problem solving. The candidate will help ensure reporting challenges, financial impacts and new initiatives are well understood and effectively managed.

Alongside reporting and analytics, the role will support continuous improvement initiatives, including system migrations, enhancements and broader process improvements.

Other work will include model and reporting fixes, experience analysis impact assessments, and investigations into methodology, assumption or system-driven reporting impacts.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
