NASC is the leading trade association for the UK scaffolding and access industry, championing the highest standards of safety, technical excellence, training and competence across the sector.
NASC is seeking an ambitious and politically astute Corporate Affairs Manager to lead our corporate affairs, public affairs and stakeholder engagement agenda. This is a high-profile role offering the opportunity to influence government policy, strengthen industry relationships and support the strategic leadership of an organisation at the centre of a vital UK industry.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a key role in enhancing NASC's reputation, influence and impact across government, regulators, members and industry partners.
About the Role
This is a varied and strategic position that combines public affairs, governance, stakeholder engagement and executive support.
You will:
- Lead NASC's public affairs and government relations activity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parliamentarians, government departments, regulators and key industry stakeholders.
- Support the CEO and Executive Team with briefing papers, policy advice, reports and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Establish and support the development of a new All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the scaffolding and access sector.
- Coordinate and support the International Access and Scaffolding Association (IASA).
- Oversee NASC's committees and governance structures, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Represent NASC at conferences, events and stakeholder forums across the UK and internationally.
- Line manage and develop the Corporate Affairs Executive.

About You
We're looking for an experienced corporate affairs or public affairs professional who can work confidently with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
You'll bring:
Essential
- Significant experience in corporate affairs, public affairs, government relations or senior executive support.
- Strong understanding of parliamentary processes and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Experience supporting committees, boards or governance structures.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong political awareness and sound judgement.
- Experience managing colleagues and external suppliers.
Desirable
- Experience within a trade association, membership organisation or not-for-profit body.
- Knowledge of construction, infrastructure or the built environment sector.
- Experience in lobbying, policy development and consultation responses.
- International stakeholder engagement experience.

Working Arrangements
- Full-time position.
- Hybrid working with attendance at NASC Headquarters in London.
- Regular UK travel and occasional international travel.
- Some attendance at evening stakeholder, parliamentary and member events may be required.
- Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
