Role Summary:

Join Royal Papworth Charity at an exciting time of growth and help make a real difference to the lives of patients, families and staff. As Corporate & Philanthropy Manager, you will play a key role in securing high-value corporate partnerships and philanthropic support that enables the charity to fund pioneering research, innovation, staff wellbeing initiatives, enhanced patient experiences and more.

Working within the Charity’s Fundraising team and reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you will collaborate with clinicians, researchers, senior leaders and supporters who are passionate about improving healthcare outcomes. This is a relationship-focused role where you will develop meaningful partnerships and connect donors with life-changing opportunities to support world-leading care.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Corporate & Philanthropy Manager, you will lead the development of high-value corporate and philanthropic income, building relationships that generate significant long-term support for Royal Papworth Charity and the patients, families and staff who benefit from its work. The role is expected to deliver sustainable income growth, identify new partnership opportunities and manage a portfolio of corporate supporters, major donors and prospects.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy, taking responsibility for developing fundraising plans, identifying opportunities, managing stakeholder relationships and representing the charity at meetings, events and presentations. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, researchers, senior leaders and trustees to create compelling cases for support and secure investment in projects that enhance patient care, research and innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and stewarding corporate partnerships
  • Preparing funding proposals and impact reports
  • Managing fundraising budgets and performance targets
  • Ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations
  • Contributing to the charity’s long-term fundraising strategy
  • Supporting cross-organisational projects
  • Helping strengthen fundraising capability across the Trust through partnership management and relationship-building expertise

We recognise that not every candidate will have experience in every aspect of the role. Training, induction and ongoing support will be provided to develop knowledge of NHS priorities, charity governance, internal systems and processes, and fundraising programmes. The successful candidate will bring strong relationship management, communication and business development skills, alongside a passion for making a meaningful impact through healthcare fundraising.
