Job Opportunity for Corporate Associates
This will really suit Corporate Associates (1 - 3 years post qualification experience) in elite law firms who are thinking about improving their hours/work life balance.
You do not need to compromise on work/firm quality to get your life back. This is a move where you can have both.
Track Legal is working in partnership with one of the market's leading Corporate M&A teams in London.
This is a rare opportunity for a Corporate Associate to move into an international practice where the quality of the work is exceptional, the client base is international and the cross border transactions are sophisticated and complex.
The culture and working environment are notably more sustainable than many of the firms competing at the same level.
The team sits at the very top end of the London corporate market and ranked Tier 1 by Legal 500 for M&A. It is also highly ranked across private equity, venture capital and equity capital markets, so Associates get exposure to a broad diet of work rather than being boxed into one narrow area.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The work is predominantly high quality cross border M&A for major corporates, investors, financial services and international businesses. The team regularly runs transactions involving multiple jurisdictions across Europe, the Middle East and North America, and recent deal flow has been particularly strong in technology and other growth sectors.
For someone coming from an elite London firm, looking for improved hours, and a genuine balance back into their lives, this is one for you.
You get to keep the calibre of work, the international elements, the complexity and the quality of the partners around you but what changes is the day to day experience. The firm has a more flexible and sustainable approach to working and is very deliberate about allowing lawyers to build long term careers without the expectation that excellent corporate work has to come with permanently punishing hours.
The team is international in the way it operates. You are not simply handling a UK deal with one overseas workstream attached to it. Associates regularly work with colleagues and clients across multiple jurisdictions and gain experience at the forefront of high value, cross border deals from an early stage.
