Role profile

"Fantastic team of individuals. A top quality firm but with a more personable approach." - Legal 500

We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and talented lawyer to join our top-tier Corporate team based in Bristol. You will work on interesting and often complex national and international deals across a variety of sectors and work types, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, emerging companies and venture capital, and equity capital markets. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well-respected, vibrant team and to work in a supportive and collegiate environment. You will also be able to pursue your sector interests, contribute to client relationship development, and expand your business development and networking skills, as well as involve yourself in the firm's many D&I initiatives.

The practice

"Relocating to Bristol with a magic circle and US firm background, it was important to me that I still be able to access top-quality work, while enjoying the benefits of living and working in the South West. For me, Osborne Clarke's Bristol team strikes the perfect balance between exposure to engaging, stimulating deals and OC's famous culture. If you want the opportunity to work on interesting and often complex corporate transactions alongside talented and friendly colleagues, then I would absolutely recommend OC Bristol as an option." - James Mackay (Partner)

The Bristol Corporate team handles a broad and diverse range of corporate work, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, emerging companies and venture capital, equity capital markets, joint ventures, corporate governance, and corporate reorganisations and simplifications. We focus on acting for clients driving transformational change across technology, media and telecommunications, energy and energy transition, and life sciences and healthcare, as well as financial services, mobility, retail and consumer, infrastructure, and the built environment. A number of the partners in the team are market leaders in these sectors and attract high profile and innovative mandates.

We act for a wide variety of clients, including large quoted companies, privately owned businesses and their shareholders, private equity and venture capital firms, banks, financial institutions and institutional investors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
