About Us

Expedite is an agentic law firm for global founders. We're London-based, serving nearly 200 startups backed by Sequoia, Index, and a16z. Our corporate team is entirely ex-Cooley, our engineers are ex-founders from Palantir, Encord, and YC, and we're backed by former C-suite from OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepMind. Founded by Leeho Lim (co-founder of Encord) and Tom McGinn (ex-GC at Northzone, previously Cooley).

Most legal work is not judgment. It's assembly, retrieval, form-filling, and chasing, which is why a founder waits three weeks and pays an unreasonable amount for something that should take two days. Here the assembly is done by agents and the judgment is done by excellent lawyers. This isn't a law firm that bought some AI tools.

Who’s Behind Us

We're backed by some of the best investors in the world, including senior leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, and Lovable. We're also backed by multiple scouts from Sequoia Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, Notable Capital, and Menlo Ventures.

How we work

  • No billable hours. You're measured on what clients get and how fast, not how long you sat with it.
  • Your leverage is what you encode. The most valuable thing you build won't be a matter. It's the template or playbook that lets the next hundred matters run without you, and you'll have engineers to build it with.
  • You'll own matters end to end in your first month. No partner between you and the client.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

You'll own equity and venture financing for a book of venture-backed companies: option plans and grants, SAFEs and priced rounds, board consents, cap table cleanup.

Then you'll turn that practice into systems. When you notice you've explained the ISO $100k limit to the fourth founder this month, you don't write another email. You build the thing that explains it to everyone.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years in a top-tier emerging companies practice (Cooley, Gunderson, Wilson Sonsini, Goodwin, Fenwick, Orrick, Latham) or the in-house equivalent.
  • You've owned closings, not staffed them. You know what happens at 11pm on a signing day.
  • Real ESOP depth: plan adoption and pool sizing, ISOs and NSOs, the §422(d) limit, early exercise, evergreen provisions, repricings, the RSU transition at scale.
  • Real financings depth: post-money SAFEs and how they stack, priced rounds end to end, protective provisions, preference waterfalls, anti-dilution, board composition. Plus the ability to explain any of it to a founder in three sentences.
  • Cap table fluency, and enough 409A understanding to know when a grant is unsafe.
  • You already use AI tools for real work and have built something with them beyond asking for a first draft.
