Job Description
See how big deals get done
At Lloyds Banking Group, we like to think big. That’s why we work with corporate and institutional clients across the UK and the USA, supporting organisations with annual turnovers of more than £100 million.
We’re the partner they turn to when the stakes are high, whether that’s funding major infrastructure, backing housing and manufacturing projects, supporting higher education and regional development, or helping them navigate an ever-changing financial landscape. And on the CIB Markets Industrial Placement, you’ll get a front-row seat for how it all works.
One year. Lasting impact
From transaction banking to risk management and debt financing, we’re experts in it all. And now, as we invest in new products, digital trade solutions and capital markets growth, you’ll get to dip your toes in financial markets, client interactions and commercial decision-making – while amassing technical, analytical and stakeholder management skills at the same time.
The work you could be doing
Across the placement, you’ll be involved in a number of things. These include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
